So, to bring anyone who missed this shitshow up to speed:

Michael Cammilleri WAS one of the top offensive players for the Habs. He's worked some serious magic for them in the past, but he's had a bad year thus far and hasn't scored as many goals as they'd like. To add to that, the Habs suck this year and Cammy basically said as much to the Montreal media (he said they had a "losing attitude" and that they needed to change it, he was then mistranslated as having said his team were losers, which is 100% factual, if not all that nice). He then went on to criticize the amount of ice-time he was getting. This was a mistake. You don't say ANYTHING of substance to the Montreal media. Rookie move, Cammy.

So, today, before a game against the Bruins, Cammy essentially refused to apologize, and all but said "sorry I'm not sorry." and then went out to play. Except he disappeared in the third period. At first people thought, maybe he was hurt, but he wasn't. Then everyone thought, perhaps he had an equipment issue? No, it wasn't that either. Then we were told Cammy was sent to the dressing room and told to dress back into his street clothes. He was then told he'd been traded, put into a Boston cab and then sent to the hotel to 'await further instructions'. No, he wasn't told where he'd been traded to, he was just sent back to a hotel that none of his teammates would be going back to and made to wait there. There is an almost 0% chance that Cammy didn't find out where he was traded to from the internet, tv or text.

What were Cammy's last words to the Montreal media and his Montreal fans? Really decent stuff about all his great memories of being a Hab and he ended the interview with a message to his Montreal fans by looking directly at the camera and saying 'merci'. Because Cammy had been learning French and made sure he had someone translating all his tweets on twitter into french, so none of his fans would be left out.

The PK/Carey fic I've been writing since approximately FOREVER is finished! It's 40,629 words and DONE! Now it just has to be cleaned up and edited but w/e, w/e, I finally got through finishing it. I swear, I added piles and piles of scenes there in the end in an effort to forestall wrapping everything up in the end. Oh yes, I will add tons of fun little nothing scenes in an effort to not have to write important, difficult scenes FOR DAYS.

So… I had kind of a crazy Christmas. Like, I went up early to my mom's and thought that was going to inevitably lead to drama but it didn't… except apparently my stepdad didn't think so? ( cut for mentions of something like domestic violence, of the stepfather variety. Also because no one cares about my drama with my mom. I was a super good person and didn't start any fights though. Basically I deserve a medal )

But enough about my mother. How about the fact that I got fired? ( shit about the losing the job I hate )

But what about good things? The Hawks got shutout by the Kings, while I watched with my Kings fan family members? No. I went to a Ducks game! Which the Canucks won. Also the place was full of Canucks fans and a bunch of the jags in the section next to mine booed the US National Anethem… though my sister seems to seriously get my love of hockey and wants to make going to a hockey game our new family holiday tradition. So let's call it a wash!

Take Me Away (Honey 2, Tina/Maria, Explicit) - So, firstly, this is the hot, ladies-boning fix from a silly dance movie of my dreams, no lies. Like, there is holding down, there is mockery, there is EVERYTHING I LIKE IN FICS! But, in addition to that, my 100% anonymous, mystery author also managed to capture their voices, PERFECTLY. It's honestly not easy, because the way they speak in the movie is stylized almost to the point of absurdity, so the author's ability to get the voices PERFECT without tipping over into being offensive is just, SUPER impressive.

I've got your back, if you've got my hand (Falling Skies, Gen) Set in the universe where HAL IS TOM'S STEPSON, AS IT SHOULD BE! This fix, by another totes anon author is so great. It is EXACTLY the slice-of-life piece I was hoping for when I prompted it AND with the added totes-his-stepson. Hal is so great in this and it almost effortlessly shows how quickly he grew up and how quickly he stepped into a surrogate parent role, when Tom couldn't. I would literally read millions of more words in this verse, because it totally felt like a complete verse, even in only a couple hundred words.

The F**cking Movie Never Motherf**cking Ends (@MayorEmanuel, Gen, Mature) - Literally the greatest thing that came out of yuletide this year. It's a continuation of @MayorEmanuel's activities in the alternate universe. It's so fucking good that I kept telling Abby or Imp in IM that it's not fair that Dan Sinker would write fic for his own creation. IT IS THAT GOOD. Run, kids, DON'T FUCKING WALK.

Extended Options in Twosomes (Community, Troy Barnes/Annie Edison/Abed Nadir, Teen) - Everything about this is great. Troy'd freakout and Annie playing Han Solo and UGH, just, exactly what I want out of this threesome and MORE.

Muddle Through (Hockey RPF, Viktor Stalberg/Marcus Kruger, G) - this was really sweet and I liked it a lot.

Beauty Move (Hockey RPF, Jordan Eberle/Taylor Hall, Jordan Eberle/Colten Teubert, Mature) - THIS WAS STUNNING. Like, so perfectly in character and the voices made me want to stab myself in the face with joy. JESUS, literally all I wanted since Hallsy tweeted about Tubes staying with them.

Apparently I didn't bookmark very many fics. LOOK THERE WERE A LOT, OKAY?

OMG! Everyone! EVERYONE! The Montreal Canadiens have fired Jacques Martin! No really! Merry Christmas to EVERYONE! Except the Martin family, obviously. But whatever, maybe if he'd implemented a system or something, he wouldn't be in this mess.

The best part, of course, is that Randy Cunneyworth has been named interim head coach.

I know approximately dick about Cunneyworth, besides the fact that he was hired to coach the Bulldogs after Montreal dropped the ball about promoting Guy Boucher from head coach of the Bulldogs/telling him they had plans to promote him at some point. Also... I don't see any indication that he speaks French... which is kind of heavy for Montreal. Like... this could potentially signal a MASSIVE culture shift away from the way they currently run things. Meaning they'll be looking for the best coach possible next year, not the best FRENCH coach possible.

This could be really awesome for the Habs. Also, the interim coach's name has two sex jokes in it. This is a great day.

Every time I write my yuletide letter, I'm aware of what a complete and utter cliche of myself I am. I mean honestly, is this not the perfect distillation of everything I've ever shamefully admitted I love?

A couple things!

- The court has mandated the sale of the Dodgers in bankruptcy court! ( more on the Dodgers and how I'm super happy to have them sold to basically anyone else )

-The Hawks luckily had a couple of games that are great to get their confidence back, won them decisively (like they're supposed to) and today will play the Oilers. Ima be there! I hope we take the ego boost and play well.

-Apparently, last night, when the Canes finally beat a team, Jordan Staal scored a bunch of goals while his brother was on the ice. I assumed he said mean things about Eric ruining Marc's career and then scored while EStaal was pouting. Congrats on the win though, Canes!

-I'm basically stealing the next part of my entry from rokimova. Seriously I'm stealing all of it
